I am a Mormon

This is our story, it's a long one. I understand that what works for us doesn't work for everyone and that you have to live your life. It does contain our feelings and beliefs so please don't feel like I'm trying to push our religion out on you! (I wouldn't do it in my wildest dreams!) That being said, if you have questions or want to know more about anything, please contact me :)

The last year and a half has been an exciting time for Brandon and I.  We made the choice about two years ago to start attending church at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. At the time, Brandon and I were searching for a church to start going to and were having a hard time finding the right match. One day as we passed the church building in our neighborhood, Brandon had a feeling that  he needed to go that Sunday. Being his wife, I agreed to try it out with him so he wouldn't have to go alone. So we woke up at 8:15 the following Sunday (an amazing feat seeing as how it was a struggle to wake up for 11am church everywhere else!) and went off to church. The following week was amazing. The atmosphere in our house did a 180! Before we had a lot of love in the house but it seemed like we were quick to anger and got frustrated easily. That week the love in our house was palpable. It was easy to do things, that before, I would have gotten irritated about (doing the dishes after working all day and cooking dinner or folding the socks :]. There was definitely something about this church.

We continued to go as much as we could. Our ward was amazing, absolutely AMAZING! We immediately were welcomed in, it was a big family. We enjoyed getting to know everyone and especially our Friday night volleyball games!  In the fall I went back to school in Logan while Brandon stayed in Cedar Hills. In January I was able to move back to Cedar Hills while I completed my student teaching in Orem.

When I moved back I decided that I was ready to start taking the discussions with the missionaries. Now I grew up surrounded by members, most of my teammates were/are members, my best friends were/are members it was everywhere. I went to achievement days, mutual and girls camp. Essentially, I grew up amongst tons of missionaries. We had an amazing family in the ward who met with the missionaries with us. It was amazing how the Lord just put everything into place for me (and us!) The missionaries were so easy to talk to and never once did I feel pressured to do ANYTHING that I wasn't sure about. We had some of the greatest discussions and the Spirit was always present.

On the 30th of March, 2012 I was able to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I have such peace and joy in my life knowing the blessings I have been promised.

In our religion, we must wait a year before we are able to go through the temple to take out our endowments and be sealed. On May 25, 2013 Brandon was able to go through the temple and take out his endowments.  We were so excited to start this journey with our Heavenly Father. Just from the look on his face as he came out after his first session, and feeling the spirit that surrounded us I knew what a special event had just taken place. He was able to go through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple in South Jordan, UT and his Uncle Todd was able to escort him through. It was a beautiful night! A week later, I was able to go through the Idaho Falls Temple with some of my close friends and family. It was unbelievable. Before I went through the Temple, I couldn't have ever imagined the love that my Heavenly Father has for me. Now I know of that love, I know that He loves me so much, he gave his only son to die on the cross so that I might be saved. If that's not the greatest love, I don't know what is.

On June 26, 2013 Brandon and I were sealed in the Logan, Ut Temple for time and all eternity. The joy that sentence brings is beyond words. I love having the piece of mind that no matter what happens in this life, as long as we follow our Heavenly Fathers plan and keep his commandments, we will be together forever. (I'm not saying it gets any easier to kiss Brandon goodbye every time he goes to work but it helps me not worry and fret all night long!)

The Logan Temple is so beautiful!

Some of Brandon's family were able to come through with us.

I love my mom so much. It meant the world to me that she came and supported us.   I can't believe I was so lucky to have her as a mom <3

    1. Thank you Jordyn! It wasn't something we really put out to the world and it was a little nerve racking even putting this out but seeing the responses and support makes me feel so good that I shared :) The Temple is the most beautiful place on this earth!
